FAA Report on Proposed Developments to the Changed Product Rule

The FAA and other aviation authorities have released a Changed Product Rule (CPR) Report.  It outlines proposed agreements among authorities about how to make changes to the CPR.  They are accepting comment on it through March 17, 2023.

The CPR affects STCs, and as we have seen STC policy can be important to the extent it affects acceptance of critical PMAs into the EU.  Any MARPA member creating a PMA the introduces a sufficiently significant change may be potentially subject to the CPR, and the proposed changes (including the removal of certain CPR exceptions) could affect members who use STCs for domestic work, as well as those who presently do not need STCs but might need them in the future if the rule changes.

Yesterday’s Federal Register announced a public meeting on the report that will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.  If you want to attend the meeting or present at the meeting then you will need to communicate and/or get your materials to the FAA by Monday, February 20, 2023

Please read the CPR Report. If anyone in the MARPA community feels that the proposals in this CPR Report could affect them, then please let MARPA know how you think it could affect your business.
