Here is Your Chance to Influence the FAA/EASA Bilateral Relationship!

The FAA is working with EASA on a new revision to the FAA/EASA Technical Implementation Procedures (TIP).  The TIP explains how the bilateral agreement will be interpreted as it applies to airworthiness and certification questions.

In anticipation of this revision effort, the FAA has asked MARPA to identify areas that need specific attention. The FAA is interested both in immediate issues (like current problems) and long term strategic areas (the language that you know will become a problem in the future).

Examples of issues from the TIP that may face the MARPA community include:

  • the way that STCs are validated/approved
  • the way that PMAs are accepted (including critical PMAs)
  • export procedures and documentation

MARPA will be submitting a list of suggested areas for updates. This is YOUR opportunity to have your voice heard! Please email any MARPA staff member with your concerns. We’d appreciate knowing the section that you want to address, the problem that you are facing, and your proposal for a solution.
