Latin American Carriers Hear From PMA Experts and More at CCMA

Attendees made up of predominantly Latin American operators and MROs heard from PMA parts experts this week at ALTA’s CCMA Conference in Cancun, Mexico, on a panel comprised entirely of MARPA members.

In recent years, supply chain challenges have been felt by operators worldwide, and the current, quick-changing landscape means carriers can’t simply base future needs on past consumption. Examining the opportunities created through PMA is one way for a carrier to stay ahead of potential supply chain difficulties while also experiencing benefits like added cost savings on the safe, reliable parts their operations are seeking.

The panel “PMAs in Action: Easing Supply Chain Strain”, was led by moderator Nicolás Ulloa (Senior Procurement Manager & ALTA’s Procurement Committee President – LATAM), and featured Jason Dickstein (President – MARPA), Rafael Samudio (VP of Technical Operations & ALTA’s Technical Committee President – Copa Airlines), Tony Mueller (Chief Engineer – Delta Air Lines), and Brandi Dague (VP Sales and Customer Service – HEICO Corporation). Panelists were able to discuss instances of supply chain disruptions that have been mitigated through alternatives provided by PMA manufacturers.

ALTA CCMA takes place this week as hosted by MARPA member AEROMEXICO.  In addition to his participation on the panel, Mr. Dickstein took the opportunity to network with other Latin American air carriers and global operators about their PMA parts interests and program initiatives.
