MARPA plans to implement a dues increase for the 2022-2023 membership period. The specific amounts are under discussion by the Board. Our members are invited to be a part of that conversation.
MARPA’s dues have remained unchanged for the last thirteen years; this proposed increase will be only the second increase since MARPA start in 1999.
The Board has been discussing a dues increase to keep our non-profit working productively on behalf of the PMA industry. Increasing member dues will adjust for inflation and support the financial needs of the organization, so that MARPA can continue to focus on the strategic goals and benefits provided to the Membership. The Board has also discussed restructuring the categories of membership to better reflect the face of current and future members of the Association.
The industry is facing a number of important changes, including:
- Safety Management Systems (FAA Rulemaking Notice expected in the Fall of this year)
- Design Assurance Systems (FAA draft rule created by an FAA-industry team)
- COVID-related opportunities and challenges
MARPA has been protecting the PMA industry as each of these subjects develops. Our mission is to promote the highest levels of aviation safety while also ensuring a level playing field for fair competition. An increase in dues is necessary to continue this fight.
MARPA values feedback from our membership and invites members to participate in the discussion regarding member dues during the upcoming MARPA Winter Meeting. This is our annual “open Board meeting,” to which MARPA members are invited to participate in the Association’s strategic planning and to work closely with Board on topics of special interest. Any MARPA members in good standing are welcome to attend. The 2022 MARPA Winter Meeting will be held virtually on February 3, 2022, and Members are welcome to join the meeting from 10:00am – 11:00am EST.
Your MARPA membership point of contact should receive an email notification with log-in details for this virtual meeting, but if you have any questions or require log-in details please contact Katt Brigham at (202) 628-6777 or katt@washingtonaviation.com.
