MARPA COS Revision 4 Available for Member Comment

Over the past several months the MARPA COS Committee has hunkered down and collaborated to update the MARPA COS guidance material. Last updated in 2014, the Continued Operational Safety guidance was due for a review and an update to ensure the guidance reflects current industry best practices.

As an industry, we have an obligation not just to design and manufacturer safe, reliable articles that satisfy FAA regulations and the needs of operators and the flying public, but also an obligation to support those articles after they enter service. A COS program allows us to ensure the articles we sell remain safe long after delivery (not to mention comply with FAA requirements). COS also functions hand-in-hand with and effective Safety Management System, providing a ready source of data and information.

Feedback from MARPA members is vital to our success as an association. We therefore ask for your comments, corrections, and clarifications on the MARPA COS Revision 4 Draft, available here.
