DOT Announces $482 Million in Payroll Support Funding for Aerospace Manufacturers and Repair Stations

The United States Department of Transport (DOT) announced that it would grant $482.3 million in funding for 313 companies under the Aviation Manufacturing Jobs Protection (AMJP) Program.

The AMJP Program is part of the American Rescue Plan Act. It provide funding to manufacturers and repair stations, to help support payroll for up to six months.

In return, the AMJP-recipient businesses are each required to make several commitments, including a commitment that the company will not involuntarily furlough or lay off employees within that supported group during the same six-month period.

“For the past year and a half, our aviation industry workers have helped keep this economy moving, including by supporting the delivery of lifesaving medical equipment and vaccines,” said the U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. “The funding announced today will save jobs and support the workers who have supported us throughout the pandemic.”

A number of MARPA members were able to obtain the funding. A list of AMJP recipients can be found on online.
