Last night we posted that we’d filed comments on the FAA’s Sequencing Draft. Those comments were sent directly to the FAA employee responsible for the Sequencing Guidance (Renton Bean – a well-respected FAA employee).
There is still time for YOU to review this guidance and file comments. The FAA’s website stated that the deadline for filing comments was September 25; however the Federal Register provided the public with until October 3 to file comments.
The Federal Register also directs comments to be filed with the FAA directly at the email address 9–AWA–AVS–AIR–103–SOP@faa.gov. We attempted to mail comments directly to this address, but got an error message. The FAA has looked into this and says that the email address is now working, but if you have problems getting your comments filed then you can file them directly with Renton Bean at renton.bean@faa.gov (Renton’s email address does appear to work).
One of our members pointed out this morning that the FAA has removed the draft policy from their website. This would seriously impede the ability of the public to comment on it. We asked the FAA to make the document to be made available to the public (again). We got an email response saying that it will be reposted within two hours but in the mean time, you can access a copy of the FAA’s Draft SOP guidance on MARPA’s website.
Remember, this draft appears to disadvantage small businesses so you should look at it and find out how it will affect YOUR business!
