If you are an air carrier or a contractor to an air carrier then you probably already applied for the Payroll Support Program financing last year. Congress has authorized a second round of funding and the first deadline for application is midnight tonight (January 14, 2021). Applications received after 11:59 p.m. EDT tonight will be considered, but may not be processed as quickly.
For purposes of this program, the term “Contractor” means: a person that performs one or more of the following functions, under contract with a Part 121 passenger air carrier:
- catering functions;
- functions on the property of an airport that are directly related to the air transportation of persons, property, or mail, including,but not limited to:
- the loading and unloading of property on aircraft;
- assistance to passengers under 14 CFR part 382;
- security;
- airport ticketing and check-in functions;
- ground-handling of aircraft; or
- aircraft cleaning and sanitization functions and waste removal;
- Any of the above functions as performed by a subcontractor.
