In December, the FAA published a significant final rule that made major changes to the manufacturing rules, including a change to 14 CFR 21.9(a) that aligns it with 14 CFR 21.8(d) and permits the FAA greater flexibility in approving articles, especially those that pose a low risk to safety in aviation.
