NEW! Protocol for 1:1 Meeting Assignment for 2024

There is a new protocol for MARPA Member 1:1 Meetings at the 2024 MARPA Conference.

We have new rules so please read carefully!

1. Make sure you are signed up for the MARPA 1:1 meetings by Friday October 25, 2024.  This is NOT automatic as part of conference registration – it is a separate sign-up process – and it is only available to MARPA Members.
2. As usual, MARPA will create a matrix of meetings between 1:1 solutions providers and air carriers.
3. What is different this year is that MARPA will not assign the meetings to a specific 1:1 solutions provider.  Instead, we will create meeting packages and allow 1:1 solutions providers the opportunity to select the meeting package that they prefer.  1:1 solutions providers will not be able to select individual meetings (we estimate that would take more time than we have so we won’t be doing that this year).
4. By Thursday morning (October 31), we will share the matrix so 1:1 solutions providers have a chance to identify which meeting packages seem most attractive.  This will also include dial-in instructions for the draft, so you can join us to make your selection on Friday.
5. On Friday at noon eastern time (9 am Pacific time), MARPA will hold a short draft for each of the registered 1:1 solutions providers. 
   1. 1:1 solutions providers will be placed in a roughly alphabetical order. A random 1:1 solutions provider will be selected to start the draft. When your turn comes up, you will be “on the clock” and have one minute to make a selection.  If you fail to make your selection in time, then you will lose the power to make a selection. We will proceed through the roughly alphabetical list of 1:1 solutions providers, and when we reach the bottom we will return to the top of the alphabet to finish the draft so everyone gets a chance. If you miss your selection time, then don’t worry!  You will still get assigned 1:1 meetings!  You will be assigned a set of meetings at the end of the draft, based on those that remain.
   1. If you do not get a meeting with your preferred air carrier, then (i) you should still have an opportunity to speak with that air carrier at the conference and (ii) make good use of the meetings you do get, because the air carriers typically will share information about companies that impress them during the subsequent air carrier committee meeting.
6. The MARPA Member 1:1 Meetings will take place on November 13, 2024 at the 2024 MARPA Conference!

As usual, we will try to maximize the number of meetings available (within the time constraints) and we will try to make the number of meetings on each meeting package fair.

This is the first year we are trying to allocate 1:1 meetings in this way so we are excited to get your feedback about how to continue to improve this process for future years.
