PMA Education and Opportunities in Malaysia

MARPA continued in its global quest to improve PMA understanding with an aircraft parts safety seminar in Kuala Lumpur, today.

MARPA joined with CAA Malaysia, FAA and ICAO to host the aircraft parts safety seminar. The seminar examined both unapproved parts and approved parts issues.

The program was supported by the US International Trade Administration’s MDCP, with sponsorships from Chromalloy and Heico.

CAA Malaysia hosted as a part of their MASS 24 program. Over 100 regulators, air carriers and MROs attended the meeting. They came from all over Asia; but most attendees were from South East Asia.

The program featured speakers from CAA Malaysia, Chromalloy, FAA, Heico, Jet Parts Engineering, MARPA and Mid-American Aerospace. The group discussed topics like parts standards, documentation standards, acceptance of parts under bilateral agreements, and PMA-specific issues like reliability, supply chain integrity and overall safety. We hope this will represent an important step in the dialogue between the FAA-PMA community and the Southeast Asian maintenance and operations community.
