2022 MARPA Conference Hotel Scam Alert

It has been brought to our attention that it’s possible that MARPA Conference attendees are receiving telephone calls or emails asking for payment or contract signatures in order to make their hotel reservations at the Kona Kai Resort & Spa for the 2022 MARPA Conference taking place November 2-3 in San Diego, California.

MARPA and the Kona Kai Resort & Spa will NOT call potential attendees and solicit them to book accommodation, nor will any negotiated overflow properties. Online booking on the MARPA website and calling the resorts using the number and code provided on that page are the only ways to reserve a room. 

Please do not provide any solicitor with any details about your reservation and do not give them your credit card details. Do not sign any contracts they may provide in an effort to secure an obligation to book with a third-party vendor.

These individuals are identifying themselves in different manners, which are all false. These include, but are not limited to:

They request that you provide your credit card/personal information for various reasons such as:
